Toyota Camry Hybrid 2012 Only Released in Japan

TOKYO - After the U.S. market, Toyota launched its luxury sedan Camry for the Japanese market. In terms of design, this car has a significant difference. From the side of the machine used was, the latest Camry for the Japanese market seems to only using hybrid technology. No longer rely on petrol engines.

In Japan, a small car with petrol consumption is very frugal indeed be excellent. Toyota had hoped, the Camry hybrid is able to follow other successful the Prius hybrid car.

Camry hybrid using a 2500 cc engine with an electric motor sold for 3.04 million yen to 3.8 million yen in Japan.Because hybrid, gasoline consumption figures had doubled from the previous petrol versions. Camry Hybrid has a fuel consumption figure 23.4 km per liter.

"Camry is not sold in the U.S., so we focus more on the aspects to Japan's gasoline consumption," said Deputy Chief Engineer of Toyota Keiichi Yoneda.

Because that's a hybrid, Toyota also received quite a lot of bookings for the Camry hybrid. That is as many as 1700 units. This figure is higher than the monthly target of 500 units. Camry has been sold an average of 100 units per month in Japan, or 1,200 units per year.

This certainly contrasts with sales in the U.S., where the Camry can be sold over 360,000 units per year. Especially with the release of new models.
